‘Listen to the Wind’ is a beautiful and striking original work of encaustic art, using pigmented hot wax.

Pauline Dunleavy is an artist, local to West Clare, whose work always encapsulates the pure love of her surroundings, a love that stems from growing up in the West Clare countryside, all the way through to adulthood and her never ending love of hiking, cycling, swimming and enjoying her coastline. An artist, art teacher and indeed retailer in the West, Pauline’s work is well known and sought after.

Encaustic Art is an ancient medium using molten pigmented beeswax. It’s an immediate and tactile method of painting, as when the layers of wax are laid, using a blow torch, the effect is dramatic and immediate.

When I paint in encaustic, I try and recall a memory of the past and build up a different and unique piece to grasp that moment in time. I truly loved making these pieces”, Pauline.

(NOTE: Due to the heavy use of wax, pieces of this nature should be kept in cool, even temperature places – i.e., not in direct sunlight, or near a stove)

Your Shipping Choices Explained

NOTE: Due to Covid 19 areas are experiencing delays and some restrictions on deliveries – please enquire directly with us if you are concerned.

We generally use the postal service here in Ireland, called An Post. It is very reliable and we take the utmost care in packing all our pieces professionally to ensure that have the very best chance of arriving safely in their destination.  This option would be at your own risk.

We can also offer you our own cargo insurance at a reasonable price – weight and piece dependent. Please enquire with us for this option. (This will also be packed by us and carried by An Post as above)

Taking into account the delicate nature and cost of your purchase, if you would prefer it travel in a specialized and insured Art Box with an outside Art Handler, then this can be arranged.  For paintings up to and including the size 120cm x 100 cm – prices with an insured professional courier, range from €75 – all the way up to €475 (size and location dependent) NOTE: This option will take considerably longer as we will have to outsource it and get quotes for you before we proceed.

For paintings or items falling outside of those largest dimensions then a further discussion is required – as it may need to have a bespoke crate to be built for it and a further cost will apply.
