Originally a Kerry native, artist Kaye Maahs, has been living in the Burren, North Co. Clare for many years now – finding a constant stream of inspiration for her work at almost every turn. This latest edition of two oils on canvas were inspired by a stretch of coast road between Kilkee and Kilballyowen, Co. Clare, called the Dunlicky Drive, and a point there known as Foohagh. Two of the many sea stacks on that drive became her focus. Deliberate, visible brush strokes, which up close are almost not fully connected and seem soft, or even a bit difficult to define, but when standing from a distance, suddenly all fall together to produce the desired outcome and the magic happens. This kind of painting, a form of impressionism, is for lovers of fine art; relying on the viewer understanding what the artist has done – how they have managed to pull together light, shade and form in such a clever and seemingly subtle way, but one that from afar suddenly produces this amazing depiction.

Your Shipping Choices Explained

NOTE: Due to Covid 19 areas are experiencing delays and some restrictions on deliveries – please enquire directly with us if you are concerned.

We generally use the postal service here in Ireland, called An Post. It is very reliable and we take the utmost care in packing all our pieces professionally to ensure that have the very best chance of arriving safely in their destination.  This option would be at your own risk.

We can also offer you our own cargo insurance at a reasonable price – weight and piece dependent. Please enquire with us for this option. (This will also be packed by us and carried by An Post as above)

Taking into account the delicate nature and cost of your purchase, if you would prefer it travel in a specialized and insured Art Box with an outside Art Handler, then this can be arranged.  For paintings up to and including the size 120cm x 100 cm – prices with an insured professional courier, range from €75 – all the way up to €475 (size and location dependent) NOTE: This option will take considerably longer as we will have to outsource it and get quotes for you before we proceed.

For paintings or items falling outside of those largest dimensions then a further discussion is required – as it may need to have a bespoke crate to be built for it and a further cost will apply.
