Gillian Murphy’s Celestial Series (Celestial I and Celestial II) are two of our favourite pieces in the gallery right now. They are sharp and striking and very beautifully executed. Gillian took her inspiration for these paintings from a sculptor called Alexander Calder. Calder was famous in the early nineteen hundreds, for producing kinetic sculptures, that were a bit like mobiles. His sculptures were beautiful due to their subtle balance of form and colour and were basically depicting art in motion. Murphy’s take on this, using oil and cold wax on board, is, quite simply, stunning and sure makes an impact on the wall.
These pieces are being sold separately but you can see Celestial I by clicking HERE.
Your Shipping Choices Explained
We generally use the postal service here in Ireland, called An Post. It is very reliable and we take the utmost care in packing all our pieces professionally to ensure that have the very best chance of arriving safely in their destination. This option would be at your own risk.
We can also offer you our own cargo insurance at a reasonable price – weight and piece dependent. Please enquire with us for this option. (This will also be packed by us and carried by An Post as above)
Taking into account the delicate nature and cost of your purchase, if you would prefer it travel in a specialized and insured Art Box with an outside Art Handler, then this can be arranged. For paintings up to and including the size 120cm x 100 cm – prices with an insured professional courier, range from €75 – all the way up to €475 (size and location dependent) NOTE: This option will take considerably longer as we will have to outsource it and get quotes for you before we proceed.
For paintings or items falling outside of those largest dimensions then a further discussion is required – as it may need to have a bespoke crate to be built for it and a further cost will apply.
