Leaping Goat (Medium)

13″(33cm) at its tallest point – and 8″(20cm) at its widest (side profile) – bronze sculpture

Sculptor Seamus Connolly is renowned for his life size public commemorative sculptures, found around the country, from playwrights to actors to sports heroes. One of Ireland’s foremost portrait sculptors, Seamus is also widely known for his smaller animal sculptures, and in particular his gorgeous horses and goats, his boxy rams and his two dimensional hares.
This particular piece is a gorgeous medium sized, stylized ‘Leaping Goat’ sculpture. With a dark blue layered patina with polished bronze edging around the legs, this piece is sculpted and cast by the artist himself here in his studios in Kilbaha.  This light hearted, whimsical piece, makes the sweetest sculpture simply everywhere it is placed.
