12″(30cm) tall by 4″(15cm) width and a depth of 3″(8cm) – bronze sculpture

This is one of a new collection of adorable bronze whippets by celebrated, contemporary sculptor, Seamus Connolly, arrived to the gallery this past week and they are captivating!  Cast in bronze, these rather distinctive whippet pups have just attracted so much attention already. This little guy, who is part of an edition and is numbered 1 of IX is a fully 3-dimensional piece, with the most beautiful shapely body, tilted face, cocked whippet ears and stunningly cute stance. Patinated in what we could only describe as a warm rusty brown with light undertones – the colour is full of depth and topped off with touches of polished bronze.

Another striking piece, sculpted and cast in his own Bronze Foundry here in West Clare, it is clear that Seamus himself is an animal lover as he never fails to bring his heart out in these gorgeous, stylized, sculptures.
