Simply superb. This absolutely stunning mixed media triptych, by contemporary artist Carmel Madigan, truly captures the beauty, wonder, colour and texture of the wetlands. From the lacy textures of the fibres and plants you would be likely to see in a freshwater habitat such as swampy ground, or lake land puddles – the varying and gorgeous colours of nature and crazy texture of the weeds, the algae and even the plankton.
Carmel’s use of materials from nature, from pebbles and sand, to horse tail weeds and even segments of vintage lace, all come together to form this vibrant and striking underwater haven. This is a wonderful example of Carmel’s work and together these panels are a very striking piece of original art indeed.
This triptych would look INCREDIBLE in a large commercial space or contemporary home.
Carmel Madigan is an artist, first and foremost, but also she is an author, educator and marine biologist – whose art work hangs in both public and private collections, who has exhibited widely and sold internationally.
