This is such a striking study in oils of a sunflower posy, with their distinctive and large flower, in a small vase against a dark background. Another beauty, by the supremely collectable Bairbre Duggan whose handling of colour and light is second to none.

Bairbre is an accomplished artist, whose work has been shortlisted for the Dutch Portraiture Prize and regularly chosen to appear in the RHA annual exhibitions. Lecturing in fine art in Amsterdam, her skilful figurative paintings and her still life works are hanging in private collections around the world.

Bairbre is certainly an artist to keep a very close eye on.
