Ruth Wood is one of Clare’s most established and celebrated artists. Perhaps best known for her pen & ink and watercolour paintings of buildings and landscapes, she is also sought after for her original acrylics on canvas (always exciting when we get them in). This latest piece ‘Summer Cow’ is a true beauty; indicative of Wood’s signature painting style, her radiant colour palette and her lust for nature. It is also a beautifully familiar sight on our West Clare roadsides in the Summer.

Ruth says of this painting,… “This painting reflects early summer life in west Clare. In the foreground the foliage becomes a pattern of light-coloured new growth- ferns, nettles and brambles are complimented by the pink of the willow herb. The cow in the middle ground is delighted to be out of the slatted shed for the bright summer months. The Atlantic sea and sky blend together in the background”.

Your Shipping Choices Explained

We generally use the postal service here in Ireland, called An Post. It is very reliable and we take the utmost care in packing all our pieces professionally to ensure that have the very best chance of arriving safely in their destination. This option would be at your own risk.
We can also offer you our own cargo insurance at a reasonable price – weight and piece dependent. Please enquire with us for this option. (This will also be packed by us and carried by An Post as above)
Taking into account the delicate nature and cost of your purchase, if you would prefer it travel in a specialized and insured Art Box with an outside Art Handler, then this can be arranged. For paintings up to and including the size 120cm x 100 cm – prices with an insured professional courier, range from €75 – all the way up to €475 (size and location dependent) NOTE: This option will take considerably longer as we will have to outsource it and get quotes for you before we proceed.
For paintings or items falling outside of those largest dimensions then a further discussion is required – as it may need to have a bespoke crate to be built for it and a further cost will apply.
