Gorgeous Puffin, beautifully sculpted in stone by artist and sculptor Shane Gilmore.  In real life, this iconic bird is normally associated with the North Atlantic and is quite a familiar sight in Springtime along the North Clare Coastline.  They have an unusually bright coloured beak and are truly very cute and attractive birds. Using Irish limestone and also Cork Marble, Gilmore has managed to cleverly capture the real essence of the puffin with this statue.  The piece is impressive standing at approx 16 inches (41cm) tall including the Elm base and is extremely heavy as you would imagine it to be.
