The Loop Head Peninsula, is a limited edition, hand pulled lino print by contemporary artist Aoife McLaughlin. Aoife grew up overlooking the sea in Inchydoney and her coastline series is inspired by the topography of the landscape around her. This print stretches from Doughmore Bay in Co Clare to Bird Island in Co Kerry. It takes in Doonbeg, Kilkee, Kilbaha, Carrigaholt, Kilrush and Scattery Island before crossing the River Shannon to Glin in Co Limerick. Over the border, in Co Kerry, you will find Tarbert, Ballylongford, Ballybunion and the many townlands and inlets inbetween.

Aoife is passionate about lino printing; a form of fine art printmaking where an image is carved into the surface of a linoleum block using specialist cutting tools. Ink is then rolled across the surface of the carved block which is then pressed onto paper. Each ‘The Loop Head Peninsula’ is individually printed by hand using the highest quality fade resistant ink, on archival paper.
