Large Bronze Currach

Wonderfully exciting for us to get this fabulously large scale bronze currach on a stone base by celebrated sculptor Clodagh Redden. A beautifully contemporary take on what was the traditional Irish fishing boat on the West of Ireland, this boat has some beautiful unique detailing and has been patinated in a rich, but matte teal colour. This large scale bronze casting measures in at over a meter in width and approx 16 inches in height, and stood on a stone base, would be an extraordinary and stand out piece of art for an entrance hall, or foyer or indeed could also be a superb outdoor piece.

Clodagh Redden, a celebrated sculptor, has become truly, very well known for her contemporary currach boats – both in ceramic and in bronze. Her sometimes included elongated figures, often both men and women or somewhat androgynous, are beautifully artistic and stylized and her striking boats, are unique pieces, each with individual markings and designs. Clodagh’s work is highly sought after both internationally and here at home (having famously found a home in the White House).

This is a truly great piece and from a highly collectable artist.
