Mounted Pen & Ink, and watercolour painting – 23.5″(60cm) x 18″(46cm) including the mount

This is an exclusive collection of drawings that Ruth Wood has created especially for the discerning art buyers and collectors of Kilbaha Gallery. These beautiful drawings are original works (no prints of the same) and thus are highly collectable. Ruth is one Ireland’s most talented and recognisable contemporary Pen & Ink artists. Her work is highly sought after.

‘Kilbaha Village (Keatings HIll)’ is a gorgeous depiction of a super well known, characterful, landmark in the village of Kilbaha, on the Loop Head Peninsula, in Co. Clare. On the road to the Loop Head Lighthouse, this hill is a familiar and welcoming sight on your journey – nestled into the harbour at Kilbaha Bay and with the lure of a nice meal and welcoming comforts at the celebrated Keatings Bar & Restaurant.

Ruth says of this series:
“This series of paintings are based on the small communities on the loop head peninsula. It’s easy to miss the subtle views that define the visual aesthetic of this area. Capturing the following scenes was a pleasant creative project.  The bends on the road into Cross Village, a lone cow framed by an overgrown ditch near Rahona, the handball Alley at Quirren Pier and the village of Kilbaha have been the inspiration for this series of watercolour, pen and ink paintings”
