An area of geological phenomena, along our amazing and rugged West Clare coastline, hidden from most, but special to those ‘in the know’ is the extraordinarily shaped ‘Fisherman’s Point’ in Ross, Loop Head.  Consisting of layered rock, in the most unusual shape that appears like a big wave – this rock (in the far right of this painting) is a famous point with fishermen going back many generations. Captured powerfully by artist Phil Brennan, the delicate nature of the watercolour is almost in contradiction, in some ways, to the stormy seas and writhing waves that are being depicted within.
