If one were to take (as a lot of people do) an anthropomorphic approach to their animals, then, in this head-on, acrylic portrait of ‘Dave’, the bull terrier, one might say he’s teetering somewhere between kind of relaxed and slightly pissed off. His full on face fills the olive green canvas and makes a rather fun and striking impact on the wall. If you love dogs – and art – you will truly appreciate the unapologetic quirkiness of this painting. Heidi Wickham can do no wrong in our eyes.
