There is something distinctly ‘homely’ and almost nostalgic about cooking apples. The association with mammy’s kitchen and apple tarts in the oven, is almost inevitable. O’ Toole has captured the light and shade and the blocks of varying colours to be found in these three cooking apples. A lovely little original oil painting on board by the Dublin artist.
