The artist signing their work as D, is a native of West Clare and is deeply inspired by their surroundings. This is their depiction in oils of the famous sea stack on the Dunlicky Coast Road, Kilkee, Co. Clare called ‘Bishop’s Island’. The sea stack is not just visually beautiful but is hugely significant as the remains of a 6th century stone monastic settlement are to be found out there. This is a gorgeous painting by this celebrated artist.
