A rather fabulously cool limited edition etching print by contemporary artist Deirdre McKenna of a birds wing in the foreground of what is an extraordinarily detailed etched pattern in the background.  The work is called “Aden” which is the Welsh for ‘Wing’ – and it is called so, because the first in the edition was created for the album cover of a popular Welsh folk singer. The singer’s name was Gwilym Bowen Rhys. This is number 6 in that very same edition.

The etching is numbered No: 6 of only a very limited run of 12 pieces. Signed and beautifully framed by the artist. Looks absolutely gorgeous hanging.

Deirdre McKenna has worked as a professional artist since graduating from the Crawford College of Art and Design. She has partaken in many specialised ‘etching print’ exhibitions and has work hanging in many private collections. In terms of public work, she has been commissioned by the (OPW) for their Leinster House Collection and has work in the North Beaches Library Collection in Sydney, Australia.
