A rather special mermaid, making her descent, mounted on stone.   1/9

Having spent some time sculpting pieces that were associated with nature, the wilderness, the earths life cycle and indeed how all of that often interacted with our ancient mythology, Adam has turned his attention to the water with this beautiful and elegant Mermaid statue in bronze.

Adam Pomeroy’s collection of bronze sculptures draws on mythology and our connection to the natural world, bringing the elements of Air, Earth and Water to life through three striking female figures. In Transcendence IV, the sweeping wings and poised movement suggest the freedom of air, capturing a moment of liberation and the possibility of moving beyond our boundaries. Representing earth, Resistance II conveys strength and determination, her horned form and forward stance expressing a resolve to meet whatever lies ahead. The mermaid in Descent embodies water, her graceful movement drawing us into the mystery of the sea and its place in ancient storytelling. Together, these works balance power with elegance, inviting us to reflect on resilience, freedom and our enduring relationship with nature.

Cast into bronze, this aesthetically beautiful and so very tactile large piece, is patinated in a matte grey, and is mounted on a natural stone base.

Adam Pomeroy is a supremely collectable artist who produces rather remarkable oil paintings as well as his beautiful sculptures. Adam has a series of biblical themed paintings, hanging in Cathedrals throughout Ireland, along with many pieces of his work entering both private and public collections nationally and internationally.
